Frequently Asked Questions

What is the Porcelain Quickbit?
The Porcelain Quickbit is a high-performance spear-tip carbide drill bit engineered to drill clean, fast holes through hard materials — no pilot hole required, no cracking, no chipping.
What materials can it drill through?
The Porcelain Quickbit is designed for:
  • Porcelain tile
  • Ceramic tile
  • Marble
  • Granite
  • Glass
  • And more hard tile surfaces
Does it require water?
Yes. Always use water as a coolant while drilling. This extends bit life and improves performance.
What drill should I use?
  • Use a battery-powered hand drill
  • Set to medium speed (approximately 2,000–2,300 RPM)
  • Apply firm, steady pressure
Important: Do not use hammer drill mode.
What speed should I drill at?
We recommend approximately 2,000–2,300 RPM at medium speed with consistent pressure. Too much speed without water cooling will reduce bit life.
Should I use hammer mode?
No. Never use hammer drill mode. Use standard drilling mode only. Hammer mode will damage both the bit and your tile.
Do I need a pilot hole?
No pilot hole is required. The Porcelain Quickbit's spear-tip design allows it to start directly on the surface without walking or slipping.
How long does the bit last?
Bit life depends on several factors:
  • Material being drilled
  • Drill speed
  • Water cooling
  • Pressure applied
  • User technique
When used properly with water coolant and the recommended speed, the Quickbit is engineered for long-lasting performance through hard porcelain and tile.
How do I extend bit life?
  • Always use water coolant
  • Drill at medium speed
  • Apply firm, consistent pressure
  • Avoid overheating
  • Never use hammer mode
What sizes are available?
The Porcelain Quickbit is currently available in three sizes:
  • 3/16"
  • 1/4"
  • 5/16"
Do you offer bulk pricing?
Yes. We offer quantity discounts on all sizes. See our pricing chart on the order page.
Where do you ship?
At this time, Porcelain Quickbit products are available for shipment within the United States only.
